Salter Path Museum, Inc

Below are the biographies of the various artists, craftsmen, mixed media, and visual artists that are featured at the Salter Path Museum

My name is Robert Jones and  I live in Goldsboro, NC. I attended North Carolina State University, College of Civil Engineering. I've been an outdoors man all my life and love to hunt, fish and camp out. I've always been intrigued as to how the North American inhabitants dating as far back as 15,000 years ago possessed the knowledge to create the tools used for survival. When I first starting knapping, I could not believe the "physics" required to take a piece of flint, chert, etc. and transform it into the artifacts you see today. These guys were smarter than we think. My main interest is creating arrowheads, arrows, spear point and knives using percussion, pressure flaking and flake over grind.
